Over the past several years, Orange County has experienced a continual annual increase of over 25% in the number of women and 60% in the number of children seeking assistance to end violence in their lives.


There are currently only four domestic violence agencies in Orange County. Despite an estimated need for 3,722 emergency shelter beds for domestic violence victims, there exist only 362 inside the county (Orange County Continuum of Care, 2006).


It costs $100 per night to provide emergency shelter to a woman and her children.
