From the Laura's House Therapeutic Preschool

Children's Therapeutic Services

Domestic violence has a tremendous affect on children and their developing brains. Often times children see and hear things that we think they don’t. Our Children’s Therapeutic program offers a variety of ways to connect and guide children in their healing journey. We are happy to see the progress that our children make in the warm, inviting and stable atmosphere that our programs and services provide.

Opened in 1997, our program provides a safe and nurturing environment for children in crisis while they receive the following services:

  • Clinical assessments
  • "Building Blocks" preschool
  • Individual and family counseling
  • Art therapy
  • Play therapy
  • "Kids Club" after school programs

"Building Blocks" pre-school is available for children ages 2 to 5 years who are living in the Emergency Shelter and Step Ahead.
