Physical abuse is simple to identify but can be easily overlooked when the physical violence is grabbing, pushing, shoving, throwing things or breaking objects. Physical abuse leaves long lasting scars that can make an adolescent vulnerable to bullying. Most of the physical bruises/scars are hidden from family and friends because of the shame associated with intimate partner violence.
