GET INVOLVED

image description

There are many ways to get involved in ending adolescent dating abuse. The following are some ways you can support Laura's House and our H.E.A.R.T. program today!

INVITE LAURA’S HOUSE TO PROVIDE A H.E.A.R.T. PRESENTATION AT YOUR SCHOOL

You can invite our prevention and education department to present to students about dating violence. We provide an interactive workshop that discusses the different types of abuse, why people hurt people, red flags, the cycle of violence, and healthy relationships. It’s free! You can book a presentation here or by contacting prevention@laurashouse.org. Download the brochure to learn more.

START A LAURA’S HOUSE H.E.A.R.T. SCHOOL CLUB

Encourage non-violence on your school campus by creating a Laura's House H.E.A.R.T. school club. These student-led clubs raise awareness on their campuses about teen dating violence through awareness campaigns, fundraising events and other activities. We will support you with speakers and offer volunteer opportunities for club members. Please contact prevention@laurashouse.org or download our school club registration form to find out more about how you can get started today!

ATTEND THE FESTIVAL OF THE HEARTS

Our 2nd Annual Festival of the Hearts will be on March 2, 2019! Join us for a day of live performances, interactive workshops, and giveaways! For more information check out our events page.

take the pledge

I PLEDGE:

  1. To educate my friends and family about what Laura's House taught me about adolescent dating violence.
  2. To offer my friends resources so if they ever need to seek help they have phone numbers.
  3. To not judge and just listen because every situation is different.
  4. To respect, trust and value my partner.
  5. To never engage in any type of abuse-physical, emotional, sexual, verbal, mental, financial, or digital.

I PLEDGE TO SPEAK UP IF I WITNESS ABUSE. I WON'T BE A BYSTANDER, I WILL ACT!

Changing social beliefs, attitudes and the behaviors that perpetuate domestic violence while creating a safe space in which to empower individuals and families affected by abuse.
