KIIS FM: Community Council: Laura's House

Posted on January 9, 2017

Below is from KIIS FM Community Council. View the PDF version here.

The mission of Laura’s House is to change the social beliefs, attitudes and the behaviors that perpetuate domestic violence while creating a safe space to empower individuals and families affected by abuse. For more than 20 years, Laura’s House has served those whose lives have been affected by domestic violence. Over the past two decades, Laura’s House has provided shelter and support services to more than 4,000 battered women and children and counseling, life skills education and legal assistance to nearly 50,000 people.

On Friday, January 27 from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m, Laura's House will be hosting a Teen Vigil at OC Sherriff’s Regional Training Academy. The event is being held to honor El Toro High School’s Jacque Villagomez, who lost her life in 2008, and is the inspiration behind the annual Candlelight Vigil, now in its 7th year. Learn more about the event here.
