California Partnership to End Domestic Violence

Adam Dodge, Legal Director at Laura’s House in Ladera Ranch, was recently honored with the Bravery Award by the California Partnership to End Domestic Violence. The Bravery Award celebrates someone who has taken significant risks, used exceptional creativity, and/or embraced nontraditional strategies to end domestic violence.

Adam created and developed the Courthouse Advocacy Project, which strives to ensure that Orange County domestic violence survivors are prepared for and not alone at their restraining order hearings. Prior to the Project's inception, the Laura's House legal department served approximately 430 women; men and children seeking restraining order protection. That project has blossomed over the past 2 years to serve over 1,600 individuals annually and boasts a staff of 4 legal advocates; 5+ legal interns and 5+ legal volunteers. Adam's impact on our agency is highlighted by his commitment to innovating new projects and programs to serve domestic violence survivors in Orange County and is unafraid to implement unconventional or non-traditional means to get this done.
