Commemorate Teen Dating Abuse Awareness Month

Posted on December 14, 2016

Modropy Men's and Women's Tees

On average, nearly 20 people per minute are physically abused by an intimate partner in the United States. During one year, this equates to more than 10 million women and men. 1 in 3 women and 1 in 4 men have been victims of [some form of physical violence] by an intimate partner within their lifetime (National Coalition Against Domestic Violence).

At Laura's House, shelter and supportive services are provided to more than 4,000 abused women and children affected by domestic violence. Specific services provided include a 24-Hour Hotline, emergency shelter, counseling, life skills education, transitional programs and legal services to over 50,000 persons. Laura’s House strives to help women through one of the most difficult times in their life and to establish a fresh start.

Come out to show your support for Laura’s House on Friday, January 27, 2017, from 6-7pm. At this event we will commemorate Teen Dating Abuse Awareness Month at our 7th annual vigil, in remembrance and honor of the life of Jacque Villagomez and all victims of teen dating abuse. This event will take place at the OC Sherriff’s Regional Training Academy in Tustin. To RSVP for the event, email LHteen@laurashouse.org.
