Proceeds from each ride will be donated to help end the silence of domestic violence
LADERA RANCH, Calif., January 19, 2017 – Laura’s House, a nonprofit organization whose mission is to create a safe space in which to empower individuals and families affected by abuse, is partnering with trusted women-driving-women innovator See Jane Go (SJG) – the leader in ride-hail services for females. Laura’s House is the first organization selected by the transportation trailblazer to benefit from its charitable giving program committed to helping women move forward.
A dedicated fleet of SJG drivers, specially trained by the nonprofit, will provide safe, convenient and no-cost transportation to women and children who have left unsafe situations and are under the care of Laura’s House. Offering this secure alternative to public transportation is a powerful step forward in helping break through initial barriers, ultimately allowing those affected by domestic violence to obtain safety and create positive changes in their lives.

Since 1994, Laura’s House has committed to bettering the lives of Orange County families affected by domestic violence and continues to be the only state-approved comprehensive domestic violence agency in South Orange County. The nonprofit provides a 55-bed shelter for abused women and their children, life skill courses and recently expanded its reach with the opening of a Domestic Violence Advocacy Center in Garden Grove to serve victims with legal support and counseling resources.
"Since inception, it has been our intention to give a percentage of each ride to a charitable cause," says See Jane Go Founder William Jordan. "We surveyed our entire female driver base to see which causes resonated with them and Laura’s House emerged as the clear choice for a non-profit alliance. One of the biggest safety issues that women can face is from their spouse or lover through domestic violence. At See Jane Go we are working to help women access the things they need for freedom, safety and empowerment, partnering with Laura's house for our charitable giving is a powerful way to stay true to that promise."
With both organizations dedicated to providing comfort and protection to women, the SJG-Laura's House partnership is based on authenticity. For the duration of the six month partnership, SJG has committed to gifting two percent of each ride to Laura's House in addition to providing customers with the option to donate a ride each time they take a Jane, as the SJG rides are called.
