Orange County Real Estate Agents’ Gift Drive Brings Holiday Spirit to Local Shelter

The holiday season was a bit brighter for the women and their children at Laura’s House, a shelter for victims of domestic violence, thanks to the efforts of Orange County real estate agents from Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices California Properties.
The agents organized a toy drive on the shelter’s behalf after hearing a speaker at a charity event describe the heartbreaking story of a young resident who had suffered at the hands of his abusive father.
"Our agents set up collection boxes at our nine Orange County offices, and donated the contents so Laura’s House residents could have some semblance of a traditional holiday season," said Wayne Woodyard, San Clemente and Monarch Beach branch manager, and Orange County resource manager for Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices California Properties.
"Within a very short time, they collected an enormous amount of gift cards, household items, toys, women’s items, books, and electronics. It took two full carloads to transport it all, and it was worth it to see the look on the recipients’ faces when we delivered everything to them."
