Legal Advocacy
The Laura's House Legal Advocacy Department is providing education on the differences between Domestic Violence Restraining Orders and Gun Violence Restraining Orders. Legal Advocates can provide an assessment and can safety plan with survivors when there are concerns of firearms in abusive situations. Legal Advocates can also provide education and can assist with filing Domestic Violence Restraining Orders, which include orders to relinquish firearms. For more information and resources on ending gun violence and domestic violence you can call our hotline at 1-866-498-1511 or visit endinggv.org
